Beijing cancels the construction plan of two straddle single track lines of "small air trains"

Beijing has cancelled the construction of two straddle single track railway lines, the voice of China's CCTV News reported.

In 2014, Beijing is expected to start construction of two straddle monorail lines known as "air trains". This kind of straddle monorail is supported, stabilized guided by a single track. The car body is a railway running on the track beam. In February 2014, China Academy of Railway Sciences released the EIA announcement of these two straddle monorail lines. Among them, Yuquan line is a connecting line in the southwest of the central city in Beijing rail transit network. The line starts fushouling in Shijingshan ends at Huaxiang in Fengtai. The total length is about 25 kilometers, all of which are elevated lines. The plan is to set up 21 stations, including 7 transfer stations. Another "small train in the air" line, known as the "East Fourth Ring Road", is about 36 kilometers long, mainly passing through Chaoyang District Tongzhou District, all of which are elevated lines.

However, the two plans to build this year's "small train in the air" program are temporarily stranded. More than 90% of the residents in Beijing did approve of the major evaluation conducted in 2014. There are many reasons for opposition, for example, the way of overhead will affect the lighting of residents so on.

Although the two lines of this scheme are temporarily stranded, they still belong to the planning of Beijing's rail transit network in 2020. At the national level, the opinions of various aspects are being integrated to organize the argumentation, some suggestions are put forward to modify the plan. As for the next step, we need to wait for the planning approval to come back.
